You are way to young to go gray. Don't follow the Berkely style, gray at 30 and hairy armpits and legs.

The only advice I could offer about the hair is: whatever you decide to do, do it for you. Your friends will still be your friends either way and people you meet will definitely feel the "you" shining through regardless of your hair color.
I couldn't agree with you more as far as the environment is concerned. It is NOT a political consideration, but politicians will make it one if they can get something out of it. And as long as government is funding scientific research, it will be politicized.
Gun control - it doesn't make any sense to me to outlaw guns. Criminals break the law - that's why they are called criminals. Gun control only makes the law abiding people of this country more vulnerable to violent offenders.
I know this was a bit rambling and unorganized, but you had so much stuff in your entry I wanted to comment on! There's still a lot more for me to say, but I DO need to get some work done today!

A thing about the gray hair -- I feel your pain. I had strands in my bangs around age 19 or 20. I looked like I was straight out of X-Men by the time I was 22. I'm 37 now and it seems to get worse as the kids get older. Sure, I'm getting older too, but I think it's their fault more of my hair is turning gray. I've *had* to dye my hair for the past 8 or 9 years. Let me just say that I still haven't embraced it. I hate it. But I have learned to live with it.

I have had a 'spot' of grey/white hair that has been noticable, and remarked upon, ever since my hair went from blond to brown. Heck I even grew it out so I could have a stripe. Being in the Air Force at that time, it was severely frowned upon.

I don't think that you can find anyone that is on one idealogical side of any political debate, and I just kind of feel my way through life with my views. I personally consider myself a Libertarian and believe that the less government we have, the better. Oh, and get rid of the freakin' IRS. All that does is enable the morons in office the opportunity to spend it.

A proposal: 2 terms for Representatives, 1 term for Senators, and 2 for president, and there is a pay limit of $25K, $30K and $50K. Then we'll see how much they want the jobs. Congress was never meant to be a career. So, I just had a new brain fart - raise the minimum age; 50 , 55 and 60. Oh, and you cannot even run after you turn 65.

Whoops! Got a little wordy. Time for more Twitter, or something. :)

Slugger was an grizzly old bear
He gave up Captain-ing
cause he lost all his hair

He frequents the same old bar every night
He loves to watch bare bottoms in flight
Kari Peacock's be-hiney is mighty appealin'
He thinks it okay for clerks to be stealin'

A debater by trade
he instigates trouble
he's Twitter addicted
and drinks his Scotch double

Beware of the Slugger
when ur down and out
he'll laugh in your face
whenever you pout

And one last thing,
before he flew out of sight
"Price gouging is good,
if you're on the RIGHT!"

blech. I've had a patch of gray in my hair since I was 16, and I'm now almost 24. Apparently it's hereditary in my family too, because my mom said that with each kid, her hair went more and more gray, until she went completely gray. Something to look forward to, I guess. Hooray.

Anyways, I digress: I left it for a while because it was kind of hidden, but then I started dying my hair a few years back. Once you start, you can't go back. At least I can't. I enjoy playing with my hair color (nothing crazy, mind you), but sometimes I wish I had just left it. I guess I'm lucky that's the only real regret I have at this point in my life!

And all that to say: I feel ya. ;)

Jen I have read this once and liked what you said, how ever I will be back to read it when I am awake more. The one thing I caught and liked was the frustration at 2 party system. . I promise to follow up with better comment but for now just wanted to let you know I read and enjoyed it.

I had one brother & one sister who both went grey at about 24. My brother siad it suited him & just carried on as norm'. My sister has stayed blonde ever since. (Now 53 :-)

Philip Schoefield (TV Presenter) was another early 'greyer' who chose the bottle to keep his youth.

I've been lucky - only just starting at 58 & wouldn't colour.

As for the rest of your post - Phew - there's a book on it at Visions Of The Future Past :-)

A comment from Kruiser! Be still my heart!

As I was writing about the environmental issue, I felt that I was missing something in the depth and breadth of it. I didn’t want the post to turn into a book though so I didn’t explore it.

“However, those who preach the latter try to form them into a single issue.” I know this is true. As far as money going toward elusive new energy resources goes, I don’t see that we have a choice NOT to research them. I do think we should be very careful of the money flow, but my big question is why haven’t we come up with something viable yet, anyway??

If that was a compliment about me being deep, then thank you kindly. If that was a neutral observation, I have to agree with you. My brain was thrilled that I used it for something other then glib repartee in Twitterland.
