The Jen
“All men should strive to learn before they die what they are running from, and to, and why.”
~James Thurber~
After one of those particularly important life-changing moments, I found myself drawn back into the world of writing and other creative outlets. For the most part, I dwell on the mundane, inane and insane parts of living; always and forever asking why. Dubbed a ninja of words and deeds by a few friends, I love the lore of language and lust after the spontaneity in life.
Proud to be a Texan gal with a feisty attitude and a generally kind, perhaps too trusting heart, I am an over-analyzer to the nth degree. The more I learn, the more I realize that I really don’t know anything about life and most certainly not enough about myself. So here goes another part of my hopefully long and fruitful journey of self-discovery, doing one of the few things that makes sense of things for me and soothes me . . . writing.
I do hope you enjoy my ramblings.

Sense a pattern yet?
Jen, you are lucky to realize in your mid 20’s what takes many people a lifetime to figure out…
Jen
I am looking forward to getting to know you.
You are multi-faceted and incredibly interesting.
“I am realizing more every day that I really don’t know anything about life or about myself.”
For a mid-twenty something you’re ahead of the curve with that revelation. Many Bllessings to you Jen. And nice meeting you..
Dan–
So, you have a Thurber quote and no Thurber book review? tsk, tsk.
Loved Thurber. He did great cartoons for The New Yorker, back in the day. In fact, probably about the only thing I’ve ever “read” in The New Yorker have been his cartoons.
Ta-pocketa-pocketa-pocketa.
The Jen is someone I have only recently interacted with but from what I can tell, The Jen is quite enjoyable to talk to. After reading some of the posts on your various blogs, it is obvious that you are as talented as you are friendly (this is an awesome trait that makes The Jen awesome). We share a lot of common interests. We should talk. Oh wait, we already do that at twitter

Kudos on figuring this out in your 20’s. I was 37 with a husband, 2 kids, and a self-induced, stifling life before I figured out that I knew nothing about myself. Quite shocking and difficult to figure out with all these people depending on me. I look forward to reading more.
You seem very wisened for your age Jen. I have enjoyed your tweets and look forward to reading more. Good Luck in everything you do and most of all…..Happy St. Patricks Day;)
